Microsoft Surface Pro vs. Surface Laptop: Snapdragon X Elite showdown

The Surface's biggest issue, both laptop and tablet, is the iPad and Macbook Air, you just get more for your money at every price point, especially the 13" M4 Macbook Air that's currently (and repeatedly) on sale for $850. It's something I keep hoping TomsHardware would do an article on since it's first party vs first party hardware: Apple M4 Macbook Air and iPad Pro vs Microsoft Surface Laptop and Pro Snapdragon Plus and Elite.

Is there any decent laptop with upgradable (or soldered on factory by an order) to 128GB or more memory?

The HP ZBook Ultra 14 inch G1a can ship with up to 128GB RAM, though I'm not sure if it meets your definition of "decent" as it only has a AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395 and no dGPU.

Price tag $8250 for the $2k maximum laptop with an extra memory which costs barely $300 ? That's definitely for the AI crowd which enjoys the quick moment of gold showering

There's the 16" M4 Max Macbook Pro with the 16 core CPU/40 core GPU, 1TB storage, and 128GB RAM for $4700 which has better than 14900HX CPU performance and 4070M levels of non-gaming GPU performance (according to Notebookcheck).

Thanks again for the links. I thought I will easily find the laptop with upgradable memory like it was before. Instead now all manufacturers solder it as well as SSDs and rarely who has more than 32 GB. In the era of AI 32GB RAM means nothing but the planned obsolescence
