Hello I'm upgrading majority of my PC soon.

I want to get a 9800x3d or a 9700x and a 9070 xt along with a b850 aorus elite wifi7 and 32gb 6000mhz cl30 ram. The thing is I currently have a seasonic gc g12 750w psu, which from what I've gathered is not that good for newer power hungry components. Now, I did find an rm850x shift, but I could only get it if I buy 9700x, since 9800x3d is quite a bit more expensive.

So, my question is do I need this psu upgrade for either of these cpus and a 9070 xt if I get the pulse variant of this gpu which doesn't seem to have crazy transient spikes from what I've gathered? I am playing at 4k60z most of the time and I may go down to 1440p144hz later.

Thanks in advance!

How old is your PSU and what did it power throughout it's tenure?

If you're asking specifically regarding the PSU, then you should look at an 850W reliably built PSU. Add more if you intend to overclock the PC and/or retain the PSU for a longer period of time.

Moved thread from Components section to Systems section.

I bought the psu in january 2022 and used it for my current pc with a 5600x, rtx 3070 and 16gb ram. I don't intend to overclock at all. I am aware that the psu is the weakest link, so I'd like to know if it's smarter to get the 9700x with rm850x shift, which is a much higher quality psu and it's 850w or if I could get by with my current psu and a 9700x or 9800x3d, at least until I am able to get a better psu.

750W will work for now. If this is gaming PC then look at the 7800x3D.
