Hey yall. I did some research recently and decided I'll use the Liam Li A3 case for my new build. My main issue comes with the fan configurations.

I'll be running a Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO on a 9800x3d, and assume it'll need some cool air, so I definitely need 1 side fan. From everything I've read, the case should be fine without bottom intake since the gpus are hugging it anyways, and so my problem is whether i need to fill every exhaust slot on the back/top or not. Also, whether I should get 140mm or 120mm. Thanks!

whether I should get 140mm or 120mm

140mm fans will push more air per revolution compared to an 120mm fan at the same RPM.

I'll be running a Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO on a 9800x3d

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6000mhz cl30
SSD/HDD: Kingston FURY Renegade 2tb

I looked over the video, he didn't mention much about air coolers so that's what made me a little unsure. I'm just worried that the cooler won't get enough cool air and that it could affect the cooling, thus the side panel fan. I'd definitely prefer to run more air through the case, so at least the side fan for sure would have to be a 140mm one.

Still, I'm left unsure with what to do with the rest of the of the exhaust fans, whether fewer would be better (especially with their placement adjacent to the side panel fan, as well as whether I really need or don't need bottom intake fans. Maybe I don't need the side panel fan, and getting bottom intake fans is better?

Its difficult to know without testing. If it was my build, I would six 120mm fans. Three fans at bottom, one on the back, two at the top (leaving the front top fan unoccupied. I would also spin at the bottom of the case 10% faster in custom fan curve to get the positive airflow you would want.
